Every few months another well-loved app announces a 'cloud migration' and, six months later, a shutdown notice. Your data — years of it — becomes a JSON export you have to figure out how to reopen.

Offline-first isn't nostalgia. It's a design decision: your files live on your machine first, sync is optional, and the app keeps working the day the company behind it stops. That's the bar we hold Lyncost and every future Lyn app to.

It also happens to be faster. No spinner waiting on a round trip, no 'you're offline' banner. The database is a file on your disk, not a promise from a server you don't control.
